For non-domain (home, computers at UCR with local/personal logons)
Windows computers perform the following:

  1. Click here to download the SSL Certificate.
  2. Click on the “Install Certificate” button
  3. Click on the “Local Machine” radio button
  4. Click on “Next”
  5. You may receive a notice about making changes to your computer.  Click “yes”
  6. Click on the “Place all certificates in the following store” radio button
  7. Click on the “Browse” button
  8. Select “Trusted Root Certificate Authorities”
  9. Click on the “OK” button
  10. Click on the “Next” button
  11. Click on the “Finish” button
  12. You can now close the certificate

For Firefox:

  1. 1)      Click here to download the SSL Certificate.
  2. 2)      Open Firefox Options
  3. 3)      Click the "Advanced" Tab
  4. 4)      Click on “Certificates”
  5. 5)      Click "View Certificates"
  6. 6)      Go the the "Servers" Tab
  7. 7)      Click on "Import", find the crt file you downloaded, and click "Open"
  8. 8)     You can now close the Certificate Manager and Firefox Settings

For Macs:

  1. 1)      Click here to download the SSL Certificate.
  2. 2)      You will be prompted to add the certificate to a keychain.
  3. 3)      Choose the “System” keychain
  4. 4)      Click on the “add” button
  5. 5)      Enter your administrator username and password and click on the “Modify keychain” button.
  6. 6)      In the keychain Access application, highlight the BCOE CA certificate and double-click on it to open it
  7. 7)      Expand the “trust” menu.
  8. 8)      Choose “Always Trust” for “When using this certificate” and then close the certificate.
  9. 9)      Enter your administrator username and password and click on “update settings”
  10. 10)   You can then quit the Keychain Access app.
