Windows 8 Help

Shortcut Keys (Hotkeys)

A recommended feature for Windows 8, hotkeys allow you to access information and perform various tasks quickly. Below is a link to a pdf containing the hotkeys available in Windows 8 that we recommend.
Systems Recommended Hotkeys

For an expanded Windows 8 hotkey list click here. If you want to learn more hotkeys, there is a complete hotkey list available here, many of these will also work in Windows 7. The complete list is large, we do no recommend memorizing the enitre document.

How to Find an Installed Program

A quick walkthrough for finding an installed program in Windows 8.

Microsoft Account

In order to access the Windows Store from your Windows 8 computer you will need a Microsoft account. If you do not have one already you can go to the Microsoft Account Signup Page. If you already have an account @outlook.com or @hotmail.com you can use that account, you do not need to sign up for another one. In Windows 8 you can use a Microsoft Account to sync setting and preferences, access applications and more. Unfortunately because you are logging in with your Engineering Account, you will not be able to log into your computer with your account from Microsoft. You can still use an account from microsoft for the store and other apps though.
