Accessing Z Drive From Home


This tutorial will give a walkthrough in Windows on creating a drive mapping to your Engineering home directory. You must have already setup and connected to the Engineering VPN in order to map your home directory.

  1. Go to "My Computer"

  2. Go to "Tools" and click on "Map Network Drive..."

  3. Select a free drive letter and type in "\\toaster.engr.ucr.edu\username", where username is your ENGR username.

  4. Type in your ENGR username and password. The username must be prefixed with "engr\" to specify the domain.

  5. Click finish. You should now see you network drive pop open.

About WinSCP

WinSCP is similar to a FTP client, except that it is secure.  You can use WinSCP to download and upload files on your home directory, or Z drive, and maintain your web site.
